Bill would block community benefits agreements from influencing Metro decisions

The first community benefits agreement in Nashville materialized in 2018, during the debate over building a Major League Soccer stadium in Wedgewood-Houston. The deal was crucial: Before final votes on the proposal, most Metro Council members signed a letter calling on Nashville SC majority owner John Ingram to sign a CBA. The second CBA came about last year, in a contentious debate about a zoning change that would allow a 1,150-unit apartment complex in East Nashville.
