The U.S. Department of Energy announced the closing of a $2.5 billion loan for Ultium Cells LLC on Monday. The loan will help Ultium finance ongoing construction of an electric vehicle battery factory in Spring Hill, Tennessee, as well as sister operations in Ohio and Michigan.
